Izbushka
Izbushka is a prototype for a larger set design concept inspired by Slavic folktales, especially the figure of Baba Yaga. The piece was created using a rubbing technique, transferring the texture of an object onto mulberry paper with black ink. It draws from the emptiness of winter landscapes — vast, quiet spaces that invite stillness, breath, and exploration of fields in their resting state. Izbushka exists on the threshold between the real and the imagined, crossing the plateau between lived space and folkloric imagery.
